Credit Donkey
Personal Finance 💸 SEO
Executing high-ranking content at scale
Using a journalistic approach to create sticky page-1 content
PROBLEM
Credit Donkey publishes a high volume of content related to personal finance and banking. The problem that perpetually faces organizations who attempt to publish large volumes of content is that research often doesn’t extend beyond a basic Google search. As result, everyone who writes on these topics ends up rephrasing the exact same content.
SOLUTION
To avoid creating the generic, bland, me-too style content that dominates many of Google’s search rankings, I combined traditional SEO research with a journalistic approach to each article. I would personally contact the banks, apps, and state and local agencies to gain proprietary information other publications were too lazy to discover.
RESULTS
This research approach created distinctive content that answered user questions without simply regurgitating the same handful of facts. As a result, 64% of all articles I produced for Credit Donkey achieved Google page 1 (top 10) ranking.
This article ranks #1 on Google for target keywords “banks similar to chime” and “chime alternatives”.
This article currently ranks #5 for target keyword “citi high yield savings rate”.
This article ranked #3 for target keywords “current bank reviews”.
